Which lenses are compatible with Cinefade?

The Cinefade system is compatible with all cine-lenses that have manual aperture control with a geared iris ring so that an external lens motor can be attached to control iris diameter. Accurate lens markings are also necessary for the user to create precise lens mapping data, which the system uses for exposure calculations to keep the exposure constant.

Old vintage lenses often have inaccurate T-stop markings, which causes problems during lens mapping, as the lens data will not match the actual light transmission. It is advisable to use a T-stop bench (Kish Optics or P+S Technik) to measure accurate light transmission.

In our experience the following lenses work well with our system because they are fast, which produces a very shallow depth of field, have accurate lens markings, which are important for lens mapping and calculating a consistent exposure and finally cinematographers like using them because they are aesthetically pleasing and perform well optically.
