What is the range of the Cinefade?

The maximum range of the Cinefade effect is 5 T-stops.

It is possible to vary depth of field over a range of 5 T-stops at constant exposure. This range can be expanded to 7 T-stops with the introduction of a slight colour cast, which is easily corrected in post-production.

An initial light loss of 1.5 stops needs to be considered when the VariND is at full light transmission. To perform a Cinefade from T11 to T2, a light meter reading of T16 ½ is necessary to achieve a ‘good’ exposure.
